Camp Mosquito Comic Process

Camp Mosquito was a collaborative effort to create an original six page fantasy comic with a cover. Our group began by discussing our shared interests in fantasy stories, exploring classic tropes and drawing inspiration from nostalgic books, television, art, and personal experiences. These discussions led us to develop a story about a tween tiefling sent to a human scout camp as punishment, where she must learn to rely less on magic to earn her badges.

My contributions included writing the script, developing color studies for pages 2, 3, 5, and 6, and inking pages 5 and 6. Throughout the project, we held regular group meetings to share progress, exchange feedback, and maintain a cohesive narrative and visual style. Early in the process, we collectively selected visual references and established a style guide to define the comic’s inking, color palette, and overall tone. This shared foundation helped us create a consistent visual identity while allowing each group member to contribute their own skills to the final work.
